Go to our Contact Page and fill in the details of your project. In essence, input your query letter information. This then will head to our query crew for review. Make sure you submit a clean, well-edited piece for your best chance of getting to the next phase. We return rejections and acceptance with feedback. If you are interested after reviewing our editing and feedback, we then schedule a video call to get to know one another and make sure we are a good fit. Creating a book is a partnership that we take very serious our expectations of you as an author and always want to be transparent of who we are as a publisher.
We work with the author and the project. We have deals that come with no upfront costs and deals that come with all of the bells and whistles to help you reach the highest possibility of your book's success within the budget you have.
There is no one story that tells it all. There is not one type of publishing contract that might work for everyone. Some authors simply need help creating a family heirloom. Some authors are just getting started and don't have a budget or email list to reach their desired level of success. Some authors are business persons and entrepreneurs that understand that they are creating a business and have set aside an appropriate budget for their product development, marketing, brand, and have a strategy for creating their book and want to be as professional as possible.
We will consider almost anything if you can pitch it to us and it rings for us. We started in the business with Whistleblowers, Business professionals, Entrepreneurs, Non-fiction, and moved forward with Humor, Sci-Fi, Fiction, Thriller, Self Help, Spiritual, Poetry, Series, Tabletop, and more. Keep in mind some scenarios may need custom production costs outside of our normal options.
Yes! Keep in mind it would need to be contractually available if we choose to accept it, and you must own 100% of the rights to the work. Again, these books and stories should be well edited and be your best work for a better chance of being accepted and considered by us.
No allowances or advances are paid to our authors. Olive Publishing, LLC, authors receive a variable split of profit depending on their publication choice options. At the start, 100% profit goes towards the necessary in-house costs to produce the book (cover art, editing, formatting, production) because at the end of your contract the author gets to leave with these! We don’t make money until you make money. We work as a team to make your book profitable for us both. The payment agreement is defined on our IO (Insertion Options) and outlines any special arrangements as needed. Our writers can refer to our MSA (Master Service Agreement) for their official contractual details.
Our contracts start on the day you sign and last 5 years, with auto-renewal in 5 year intervals. A 120 day Written Notice is needed to cancel or opt-out of auto-renewal. Please refer to the details outlined within the MSA (Master Service Agreement) on the specific contractual requirements and expectations.
This is only accessible to authors who have gone through our submissions process and still show interest. At this point, they are given access to all the contracting materials to consider and may pass or sign on as an official Olive Publishing, LLC, author.
Every Olive Publishing book is copyrighted in the author’s name. We simply own the right to publish and produce the book as per the contractual obligations. Our authors are also allowed and encouraged to produce articles, books or submit stories to collections outside of Olive Publishing, as long as they follow our pre-determined deadlines on time. There is no reason not to grow!
Yes, BUT that has to be agreed to prior to signing the IO (Insertion Options) and all those covers have to be approved and reviewed by our team.
Not every author will be able to do this. In the world of a writer the big struggle is getting people to know you and your work. After all, you want to make some money for your efforts. We work with our authors and make sure they can attend events before ever scheduling. In the MSA (Master Service Agreement) and Author Code of Conduct we outline stipulations that may apply when and if that time comes about.
The book world is a slow industry. We pay our authors quarterly. Many others do so annually or bi-annually. It can take a vendor 30-90 days to pay our book distributor from the “last day of the month it sold within” and our book distributor pays us quarterly. So yes, it can take roughly 120 days to see payment on a book when you first release your work.
